[A Bid For Freedom]

that was very nice

i've seen people do similar things. not with the content but with the way you somehow coded flash to turn the page and mask the illustrations so it looked 3 dimensional. I always find it such a nifty trick of the program although I havent the foggiest idea how one would go about making it.

mr.rodriguez illustrations were beautiful (and watercolors I think) but one wouldnt expect any less from him. the man is a master artist.

andy dennis makes a very good narrator.
no real animation to speak of but obviously thats not the purpose of this. I will say it would have been nice if the book were larger on the screen. Or if there was some sort of zoom in feature so we could see the art at a crisper finer detail.
also the brown backround seems to be offset by a couple of pixels and there are some odd red lines floating around the borders of the film/book.

but this was very nice

wow

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwww

despite the animation in this being fucking godly, the idea behind this is brilliant
turning the watchmen into a 80's style cartoon show
Veidt looked like M.Bison from the street fighter cartoon show

what i really like though is all the subtle references to the book. manhattan sleeping with himself, the comedian and silk specter's tumultuous relationship, ror and the dogs, you even managed to cram the neon colored alien squid manhattan made into a shot.

this is a step above your usual animation quality harry (which was already good)
did you get a new tablet or something?

Cute.

I like that, as opposed to trying to get voice actors to attempt to imitate the cast of the game, you instead used actual sounds from the game.
Which is a good idea. I doubt there's too many people online who can do a voice as deep and russian as the Heavy.

Also the whole theme felt like a real "Meet The" with the whole pseudo-interview mixed with scenes of a character doing their thing inter-spliced. Although honestly this is nowhere near good enough for you to need to stick "This ISNT THE REAL ONE GUYS" which is dumb to see there.

Noone is gonna think Valve made this. I mean its 2d for christs sake.

Whoever you got doing the Spy's voice did a good job. The spy doesnt have alot of lines in the game, BUT the voice you chose for the Spy in this, does indeed sound like the character.

So with these factors alone, the characterization and humor in this elevates it above your typical crappy newgrounds video game parody.

The animation in this is rather inconsistent.
It jumps from being funny caricatures of the characters with somewhat sloppy tweened animation (the scene with the sandvich, the scene with the pyro), and then flies into the other end of the spectrum where the animation was more traditional but alot jerkier and alot funnier (the demoman getting stabbed in the neck, the scout running away, etc).
Also, the spy doesnt look much like the spy. With the other characters you managed to capture their faces pretty well. But the spy has a huge nose. Where was his nose man?

But seriously, please read the full description next time before you write a review. The only "voice acting" in this was me doing the camera man which I purposely made nearly inaudible. Everything else was just in-game voice clips by valve put together to form sentences and conversations in an audio editing program.. a lot of thought actually went into this... Almost.. 'too much' thought one might say?

But yeah, thanks anyways.
