Wow... I remember that stuff. I was only 9 or so at the time, but I remember it. Alas for Recess and Pepper Ann! Alas for the loss of all those shows, such integral parts of my childhood! And thank you, ZekeySpaceyLizard, for reminding me of these shows.
Ya know, on a serious note, about the quality of cartoons vs nostalgia.
I am honestly on the fence about it.
Going back and watching some of the cartoons from my childhood I just remember them being better when I watched them as a kid and compared to some of today's cartoons, some of today's cartoons don't seem so bad.
Then again, I could be like one of those people that like bad movies for some unknown reason.
I did watch Totally Spies, an awful show that was, but something about it kept me coming back. Same goes for many other cartoons.
