Do you remember this short cartoon that was once on Cartoon Network called something like "Yuri" which is the story of a russian astronaut who lives on the moon with giant jellyfishes ? Well, that galactic mail movie totally reminds me of Yuri's style. Except galactic is technically superior.

well I think the main problem is that alot of these arent flash
and exporting them as video, importing the video into flash, and then exporting it and hoping it doesnt come out incredibly blurry/choppy/ugly is quite a headache

everything with cgi is so cookie cutter when you learn because when you're a noob like me, all the learning resources try and teach realism in textures, materials, and lighting (and modeling blah blah blah). then i guess some people are stuck with that all their life, maybe because it's required for their job but who knows...i'm gonna try and learn how to create custom shading networks to be able to do the kinda stuff galactic mail did....where there's a lot of customized and directed lighting instead of naturalistic lighting. i really want to be able to combine a lot of 2d and 3d things together with after effects. i think that creates the best results when it comes to style

I think the thing about animations like The Red Rabbit that makes them seem so interesting is the lack of music and not knowing what's exactly going on. The shading was nice and it was animated extremely well, but there wasn't really anything overwhelming in there. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but it seems like every animation has to have some kind of annoying background noise in it.
And that last toon was animated PERFECTLY. I can't get over how smooth it is.
