If you can't use artrage, use corel painter. Painter files are interchangeable with Photoshop, so you can do your art in painter to get the style you are looking for, then order the layers for flash in PS for compatibility.
That's a horrible thing to do to teh Kirby (unless you can reverse it with him still being alive, of course).
