[Halloween Adventure Entry]

this was different. lovin the drybrush-style backrounds. reminded me of bill wray paintings. maybe a dash of dan krall here and there.

animation actually reminded me of krall's "kitty bobo" cartoon hardly anyone ever got to see.

also mr.bungle = fuck awesome.

i learned so much from this. about prejudice. about life. about love.

a great package.

there's lot of existential films that explore the meaning of life and how people work. but there all so similar. its nice to see something come along that takes those old ideas and kicks them out the door and presents us with something that, despite being just a few lines moving around, is more real than most films that try too hard to be.

i assume you have an animation camera and some sort of software you feed these into.

Alot of flash animators, when trying to make films that work on 'longer' formats, i.e. telling a story that needs more than 7 minutes to tell, usually just cant make their things of professional quality.
THIS is professional quality. Art direction as good as any Disney or Ghibli film, charming characters whose personalities are interesting and generate chemistry, great animation. It's all here.

It's been so long since Autumn Tree I was beginning to think you'd retired. Or died. Or gone back in time.

This is a wonderful short, and I cant wait to see the next episode.
On another note, the voice acting in this is top-notch. The characters SOUND believable and dont just sound like some guy talking into a cheap samsung 2-dollar mic reading lines off a sticky note.
Now THIS is the sort of flash that should be in the top 50.
