The art portal is open. For those unaware it is right here. Sadly its been open less than a day and already its become DeviantArt 2.0
The scouting system has failed and the portal is now getting filled with chibi fursonas, sexualized digimon pictures, fetish art, and mspaint mario sprite comics (oh and traces of famous paintings and photographs). All the scum of the earth that habituated the dark recesses of deviantart/sheezyart/yahoogroups has descended upon newgrounds to unleash their unceasing faggotry.

But we all knew this would happen. Its newgrounds. Las Vegas for outcasts from other websites.

I just hoped it'd take longer than a day for it to happen. No such luck. I already dumped a bunch of my own shit here. Its all old crap you've probably seen before and dont want to see again.
If you want to see real art go look at Laser Karl or sucho or morichax and pretty much everyone who submitted art yesterday.

that and the fact that i have no grasp on anatomy or perspective. i have no idea how shading works, and i have no programs to make the picture look even remotely passable.

still, there is some awesome work on the art protal, you just gotta dig deep enough. like the links you posted.

i too am surprised it took less than a day for the scouting system to fail. i thought for sure it would have been more secluded for at least a few days. i can't tell if the leak was due to friendships or somewhat good artists actually thinking a line drawing of sonic was amazing enough :(

i really do wish for it the best though. maybe a featured users collection of people who continuously pump out amazing things like laserkarl

Anyway,

FACTEUR MINEUR is amazing. I'm buying it even if the whole thing's in French without subtitles. There're like 2 other trailers for it, but they're all pretty much the same.

And A Kiss From Tokyo was nice. Maybe it was because of the effects; that fire effect blew my mind. They probably burned a piece of paper and I'm an idiot but I still think it's cool.

If newgrounds never had any art portal until now, it's because they knew it would be crawling under immature crap. They could only know by looking at the average age of the members. They'll probably find a way to garner money thanks to the portal and will use it as an excuse to have even created it. Champagne.
