Great Cartoons Part Slevin

Posted by ZekeySpaceyLizard - December 6th, 2008

welp i just finished off a new episode for weebl and feel relieved that it is finally done. and so, heres a pile of stuff to watch.

First is the trailer to the Freaky Flickers movie.

Now, this is not a great cartoon.

Actually its not even in the vicinity of good. However it IS mighty hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

enjoy

NOT ME PIG

.
/* */
now that THAT's out of the way, here are some more amazing student films:

this one is fucking amazing
crazy character design, bizarre stuff everywhere. no idea what it means, but man is it fun to watch.
La Marche des Sans-Nom

.
/* */
Lucy Lolly
made by Gagaman

.
/* */
Bunny Pop
this is the music from Spirited Away in this, right?

.
/* */
Moonlight Snack
the dad's face at the end is my favorite piece of this

.
/* */
And this film by Ryan Shaw called 25% cotton
featuring the weirdest ecosystem I ever did see

.
/* */
And this next student film is by Pen Ward
Ward who made adventure time, submitted a film here to newgrounds, and is one of the main brains behind the dark comedy The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack
this film features his character Bueno the Bear
the description is as follows
"Pen Ward's "powerful and stupid short that he spent very little time on at CalArts in 2006.""
WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, SASHA? >:|

.
/* */
And to finish off this post
a couple of very neat ads that some small indy studios made to advertise the Zune
this one by Tokyo Plastic (if you've ever seen the 3d flash cartoon, drum machine, its by that same studio)

.
/* */
And the perfect merge of soundtrack and visuals, with this spot
moodbot

.
/* */
actually this post is a bit short
so here's one more thing
this neat little cartoon with a twist ending

Lawl at you for posting two news posts in one day.

"moonlight snack" is my favorite. I love it when you see the pencil drawings, it reminds me of those great old disney films.

The last one is great. And also Lucy Lolly and Bunny Pop.

Those were great. Loved that student flick.
Great job finding.

wow, the lollypop one was great

WOW

freakyspaceyflickers

the temptation to make that my avatar is mighty indeed

the last one was one of last years nominees at the greatest story never told (tgsnt).

Keep these journals coming. Very interesting stuff.

congrats on the tablet
you deserve it

you have succeeded in entertaining me for a short time. our time together runs short now. savor this last few seconds of my typing. .....

and now i must move on.
good bye.

What's Pen's account? I fucking love him!

That last one... wow... did not expect anything like that. I love it when a book/movie/cartoon/etc leaves you hanging without filling in all the blanks. It encourages a good imagination.

I liked the last one. I havent gone through these yet just the last one cause i was in the mood for a twist ending.. wasnt as twisty as i expected (if that even makes sense considering its supposed to be unexpected) but the animation was good and it felt complete.

Indeed, the music used in Bunny Pop is also the music used in the credits of Spirited Away.

ou wow i got a hard one when i looked at the second film. especially the end was very absurd.

2007 - Wonchop is a big fat overrated shit who jacks off to Sonic

2008 - Cheers Wonchop! I'm employed now!

2008 - hi im mrsimon and im trying to troll and doing a very poor job of it

I love how the Tokyo Plastic one has nothing to do with Zune. They were probably like, "Dude, just make some more of your weird crap, and we'll put our branding at the end of it!!" I love the transitions TP did for Sci-fi channel, though. Someone should just give them a bunch of money to make a movie.

Bunny Pop was awesome. :3

that thing with the soldiers n sit was wicked

WHAT THE FUCK...

k.....

racken fracken varmint
