Great Cartoons - Part X

Posted by ZekeySpaceyLizard - June 9th, 2008

I forgot what number I was on and I am too lazy to go back and see how I was numerating these. So from now on I will simply label them as letters. Thus clearing up all confusion.

Okay.
So.

Here we go.
I havent done one of these in a while for a few reasons. Mainly I really havent felt like it. And secondly alot of the stuff I'd like to show you guys isn't available on youtube or any of the other video sites ng blogs can link to.
(these NG blogs really need an image tag btw. this whole 'upload 1 pic' thing is silly).

so anyway without further adieu, here's some stuff.

First thing is Bingo the Clowno.
Chances are a few of you have seen "Ryan" if not, well you should.
Bingo was shown on the scifi channel a few years ago. It's a great old 3d animated short film based on the play 'disregard this play"
It always brings a smile to my face.

Next here is the music video for the song "Trouble" by Coldplay. It's a combination of live action and alot of mixed media animated bits all combined together for a very dreamlike music video. And the song is kinda catchy as well.
The part with the crow feathers looks so cool

.
/* */
I've loved everything Craste makes. I'd really like to see what he'd do with a feature film, with noone restricting his imagination. This is a commercial he did for the Lottery a bit more than a year ago. I really adore the almost seuss-like whimsicalness of it.
You can see a VERY NICE quicktime version of this on Studio AKA's website. If you dont know who Studio AKA is, you should. Since they do the most varied and great commercial work out there.

.
/* */
Fargal Ex is a crazy artist and flash animator who has his own very weird style of doing things. Along with doing very stylized epic art, he also does on occasion some brilliantly animated films. I am nearly certain he uses flash for almost all of them.

.
/* */
this is also by him. you can see a much nicer version on his deviantart page

.
/* */
he also does lots of hilarious short stupid things like this

.
/* */
I've shown you guys things by Studio 4c before. the trailer for Mindgame I posted before and I sent you guys their Noiseman Sound Machine short.
This is another short brilliantly animated crazy thing by them.

.
/* */
i wish to one day dance like this crazy old man stirring the curry

.
/* */
And now ladies and gentlemen,
A hippo peeing it's pants
I dont know why but I felt very sad for this crudely drawn hippo. damn you japan. toying with my emotions.

.
/* */
A nice person actually linked me to this, when I did my first 'great cartoons' post. And its so cool, it'd be a shame not to share it with everyone.
I'm pretty certain the people behind this also made those two "At Least I'm Alive" shorts that are on Newgrounds.

.
/* */
Of Montreal

.
/* */
Rhapsody in Blue
from Fantasia 2000.
now in "UBER BLURRY QUALITY"
if you have not seen fantasia 2000, do so

hehehe.........uber blurry

I really enjoyed Clouds, and that CURRY MAN IS SO FUCKING SLY.
Look at his darting little eyes!

and he's an arab. CANT TRUST THEM, NO SIR

i kid, i kid.

i love everyone

I love Fargal Ex. He has made some of my favorite flash cartoons. The examples above were very awesome.

That studio 4c one has such a Jamie Hewlett vibe, I love it.

urgh dammit this'll take me like half an hour and i'm still not done with part 5.

heh, its weird, I dont remember ever seeing Rhapsody in Blue, but it looks fimilar to me, eh..anywho, yet again another nice list of video's :P

average at best

yep that's your cartoon all right.

I am pretty amazed to what Studio 4c pumps out.

as am I

Hip hip hooray for Zekey. I've been anticipating this post for awhile now, but I'll have to watch them later, I have an essay to complete but I have no doubt that this weeks selection will be rather exquisite.

......alrighty then?

I m Parack Obama, i deliver change

this is a lame joke

i laughed

poor hippo.

i blame that fucking little pink thing.

i feel so sad for the hippo thing. its so mortified.

Rhapsody in Blue is a great piece of music.

oh yes.
it and "Le Danse Macabre" remain my two favorite classical pieces. Although Rhapsody I suppose is more classical jazz.

That hippo video is actually part of the japanese
toddlers shorts series "Pants Pankuro"

a series?
about a hippo?
how delightfully absurd!
Jambi, pour on the chocolate syrup please
oh....ohh yesss

the shading and colors in the fargal ex cartoons makes me feel all warm in fuzzy inside. and i must say i had the good fortune to see fantasia 2000 in one of those big IMAX theatres... it was great.

I always liked the idea behind fantasia, but I always got extremely bored watching it. You'd think they would pick something more interesting to animate...

like what?

Nice videos I really enjoyed the package.

a smile is something special
a ribbon is something rare

Fantasia is so top class. I loved that last one.

i love the of montreal one that one is my favorite

Curry stirer = one sexy dude!

hey, you might like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4C84FLwm3D A
it's got an updated Alice in Wonderland feel to it. quite psychadelic too.

Grrraghh! Most of these have been removed by the YouTube Nazis!

Anyway, I spent yesterday and today looking through these posts, and I'm having nightmares about eels and machines that tear themselves apart.

You're missing the music video for Pearl Jam's Do the Evolution.
